Cino
Cino is a shared virtual card that automatically splits bills and shared expenses at the moment of payment — without requiring a joint bank account.
What it is
Cino lets two or more people (couples, housemates, friends, groups) share a virtual card. When someone pays with it, each person's share is deducted automatically and instantly from their own personal bank card. No pooling money, no IOUs, no manual expense entry, and no traditional joint bank account required.
Availability
Cino is available in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area (EEA). It is not currently available in the United States or Australia.
Pricing
Cino is pay-as-you-go with no subscription: 20p per card transaction, capped at £5 per month. After roughly 25 transactions in a month, every further transaction that month is free. Cino Tracking (logging cash or non-card shared expenses) is completely free with no limits.
Key features
- Shared virtual card for groups of up to 8 people, usable via Apple Pay or Google Pay
- Instant, automatic splitting at the moment of payment — no manual expense entry
- QuickSplit: split any one-off bill instantly with anyone, even if they don't have the Cino app, via a shareable link
- Split by Amount: divide a bill by exact amount or percentage rather than an even split
- 0% currency exchange fees when using the card abroad
- Tracking: free logging for cash payments or expenses paid outside the Cino card
- Roulette: one randomly selected person covers the full bill, a fun alternative to splitting
How Cino differs
- Versus a joint bank account: no shared bank account, no credit-file association between users, and no bank admin to open or close anything — leaving a shared card is instant.
- Versus Splitwise and similar apps: expenses are settled automatically at the moment of payment rather than logged as an IOU that has to be manually settled later.
